Hi there,
Been a while since my last post but hey I have
been very busy with University. For this post I wanted to talk about what I do
regarding after workout refueling. Now I know there are lots of protein shakes
on the market for this sort of thing, but because of my studies and some of the
research I have seen, I don't really trust what is in some off them and also
they make a big hole in the wallet, been a student this isn't a feasible
option. What I do instead is just mix together a few ingredients of which I
know what nutritional value they have to me and what they will do in regards to
refuel me and help growth and repair of my muscles. What I do is blend together
300ml of milk, one large egg and a banana. Now this has around an estimated
total of 23.5g of protein and 259 calories, which is an adequate amount for a
post work out refueling. If there is more protein need then add and other large
egg giving you 37g of protein. But this is just to get some food into the body
quickly to help the body to start recovering, after I get home I will usually
follow this up with a good hot meal to help fully replenish nutritional stores.
So that is my simple and cheap alternative to protein shakes, hope you like it.
Also if you don't like bananas then you can mix it up using other fruit like
strawberries or maybe just put some coco powder into to make it taste nice.
