About Me

Hi there,

My name is Jacob Mann, I am studying sport and exercise science at the University of Derby. I am in my first year and fairly new to the big world of sport and exercise science. I have previously done A level PE but obviously that is nothing but a small mile stone, in comparison to what I am doing now. I have a real passion for sport and this is why I have chosen to study in this area. My main sporting interests practically are Motocross, which I have competed in 3-4 years of racing but have laid off, while attending university. Also I take part in mountain biking, mainly downhill and 4x. I only take part in this as a leisure activity, but looking to start to take that more seriously soon. Also at university I take part in the university hockey team, this is a new sport to me and one which I have only just started to play, as of this September. I also enjoy skiing when I can but that has only been limited to snow domes so far, but I have booked to go skiing I the French Alps in Easter to get a taste of the real thing. Overall I like all extreme sports and that is what I am really into. At the moment I am not quite sure of where I would like to go once I have finish my course but for me I see this as an advantage as I can see what modules I like, then go into more depth about them and maybe pursue a career that way. But for now I am thinking of staying on to possibly do an MRes or a PhD, in the area I find is best suited to me.
